2. Eligibility Criteria

 * Class V Study: The candidate must be studying Class V for the entire academic session 2025-26 in a Government/Government-aided/recognized school in the same district where they are seeking admission.

 * Age Limit: Candidates must be born between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016 (both dates inclusive).

 * No Repeaters: Candidates who have passed Class V before the 2025-26 session or are repeat candidates are not allowed.

 * Aadhaar Requirement: Proof of Aadhaar number or Aadhaar authentication is required. Provisional registration is possible with a residence certificate if Aadhaar is not yet assigned, but a copy of the Aadhaar Card will be needed at the time of the selection test and admission.

 * Rural/Urban Status: Your status (rural or urban) depends on the location of your school(s) for Classes III, IV, and V. At least 75% of the seats are reserved for candidates from rural areas.

3. Application Process

 * Online Registration: The application process is simplified and free of cost via the NVS admission portal at www.navodaya.gov.in.

 * Documents Required (Soft Form - JPG format, 10-100 KB):

   * Photograph

   * Signature of parent

   * Signature of candidate

   * Aadhaar details or Residence certificate

 * Help Desks: All JNVs will have help desks to assist candidates/parents with the online application process.

4. Selection Test Details (JNVST 2026)

 * Exam Duration: 2 hours (11:30 AM to 01:30 PM).

 * Sections: 3 objective-type sections:

   * Mental Ability Test: 40 questions, 50 marks, 60 minutes

   * Arithmetic Test: 20 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes

   * Language Test: 20 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes

 * Total: 80 questions for 100 marks.

 * Marking Scheme: 1.25 marks for every correct answer. No negative marking.
